bifocal: árpád forgó & anikó robitz










nonsofia and liszt institute sofia teamed up once again to bring about our best in-house show of the year so far: bifocal – a duo exhibition by contemporary hungarian artists árpád forgó and anikó robitz. after decades of touring across the planetary continents, both artists came to bulgaria for the first time to present some of their latest works.

the exhibition, financially supported by the national culture fund of bulgariatook place at nonsofia gallery & archive between 13 june and 22 september, and included a series of guided tours and workshops for children.

a most fruitful collaboration between nonsofia and our dutch partners of est art foundation, leiden led to the realisation of the 5th edition of the bulgarian geometric export.

a workshop for children of the local bulgarian community, as well as several guided tours in both english and bulgarian took place as part of the exhibition.

the project, financially supported by the national culture fund of bulgaria, featured works by the following artists: georgi yanakiev, petar dochev, ivan shumanov, maria chakarova, kamen kalev, boyan chakarov, georgi georgiev, georgi dimitrov and viktor vlaesku.

export: bulgaria 4, saturation point, london

for the first time in history, a selection of bulgarian non-objective art is showcased on the albion. this came possible thanks to the mere friendship between saturation point and nonsofia, which dates back to orthogonal16: international forum for constructive art (sofia, 2017). 


the exhibition included works made over the past thirty years by the following artists: boyan chakarov, georgi dimitrov, georgi georgiev, georgi yanakiev, kamen kalev, maria chakarova, petar dochev and viktor vlaesku.

it was on display at saturation point's project space in deptford between may 26 and june 23, 2024 and was financially supported by the national culture fund of bulgaria.
